If you've thought about this for years

Clinic-supervised aligners, at the price of the postal kind.

You've probably seen both. The postal brands that scan you in a kiosk and ship the trays. The cosmetic clinics that quote three or four thousand. £999 sits between them. You get a real dentist in the room, lab-made trays, six-weekly check-ups, and retainers when you're done. Here's everything that's in it.

The first appointment

A dentist examines you, then we scan in 3D.

A registered dentist examines your teeth, gums and bite in person. We take a five-minute intraoral scan (no impressions, no goop) and build a 3D model of where your teeth are now. Costs you nothing if you don't book the treatment.

The simulation

Your finished smile, on screen, before you commit.

We run the simulation on the consultation screen. You see exactly where every tooth ends up. If you don't like what you see, you walk. No deposit at this stage. No follow-up sales calls. We're not in the convince-you business.

The trays

Every one you need, made in our UK lab.

Whatever sequence your case needs (usually around 14 trays for mild-to-moderate crowding), all made in our own lab here in the UK. Single arch. Both-arch is £1,499. Complex cases get a written quote at consultation, never sprung on you mid-treatment.

Through treatment

An in-person check-up every six weeks.

We see you in Leeds throughout treatment. If a tooth isn't tracking the way the simulation said it would, we print an adjustment tray that week. Posted aligner brands can't do that. We can, and it's part of the £999.

When you're done

A fixed retainer, so it stays straight for decades.

Most patients choose the fixed retainer: a tiny wire bonded across the back of your front teeth, invisible from the front, stays in place for decades. No nightly tray to remember, no risk of losing one, no thinking about it. If you'd rather have removable retainers (a set of two clear trays worn nightly), those are included too. Both options are part of the £999. We'll talk through which is right for you at consultation.

Why you wanted a dentist in the room

Postal aligners save you the appointment. The appointment is the part that catches things.

When the trays just arrive in the post, no one's checked your bite first. No one's screened your gums. No one's there when a tooth doesn't move the way it's supposed to. That's how postal cases go wrong. Not because aligners are dangerous, but because aligners without anyone watching them are. Here's how the two compare on the things that actually matter when it goes wrong.

Smile Direct Club closed in 2024 and left more than 30,000 UK patients mid-treatment with no clinical contact. That's not a one-off. It's how the postal model breaks when the company breaks.

Timeline

About four to six months for most cases.

4–6mo Typical mild-crowding case, start to finished smile
14trays Average sequence for a single arch
6wk Between in-person reviews, all the way through
20–22hr/d Wear time. Out for meals, brushing, hot drinks.
The honest bit

Is this right for you?

We'd rather lose the booking than sell you a smile you won't finish. Here's the honest version of who clear aligners suit, and who they don't.

A good fit if…

  • Your front teeth are mildly to moderately crowded, spaced, or have drifted back after old braces
  • You can keep the trays in 20 to 22 hours a day, out only for meals and brushing
  • You want your front teeth straight, not a whole-bite overhaul
  • You'd rather see the finished result in 3D before you commit a penny

Probably not, if…

  • You know you won't wear them the hours. Fixed braces work better, and we'll fit those instead
  • Your bite needs major correction or teeth need big rotations. We'll quote that properly, never force it into £999
  • You want it done by next week. Real movement takes four to six months
  • You're under 18. We'd rather wait until growth has settled

If aligners aren't your best option, we'll tell you at the free consultation and point you to what is. No deposit, no pressure, no hard feelings.

Two ways to pay. Same £999, same finished smile.

Sulayman and team were excellent. Came in late on as I had broken my tooth on a chocolate bar — they were very helpful and were able to get me the correct treatment within the same hour! They even looked after my partner and daughter whilst I was receiving treatment. Super service, will definitely be back in the future!

My front tooth had been knocked out, and after many years of neglecting my teeth I was absolutely terrified about going to see a dentist. Everything was professionally and very sympathetically dealt with by all staff. I've never had such a good experience with a dentist. The problem with my front tooth was all sorted within an hour and I have an affordable plan to deal with other dental issues.

I had emergency tooth extraction with Dr. Zain on Sunday evening at 8pm, and I must say that was a World Class Service without stress and pain! It took less than 20 minutes and I walked out with no pain at all. Only £20 for consultation, very good discount for my extraction, plus a free full mouth check booked for next week. If you struggle with money, they offer an excellent payment plan. Highly recommend.

I booked an emergency appointment here as I had some concerns about my gums. I was extremely nervous as I hadn't been to the dentist in several years. The girls on reception were so welcoming and the dentist made me feel relaxed and listened to. We took many breaks during the deep clean which I highly appreciated. I'll be coming back for regular appointments now I know how calm and accommodating the team are.

I woke up in excruciating pain, needed tooth extraction. Sorted me out with no pain or anything. Gave professional advice, seen me within 10 minutes — bearing in mind this was 1am. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Me and my family will definitely be joining their family plan for ongoing treatments.

I came into this clinic really nervous about treatment but left feeling well looked after by Sara from the second I walked in. Dr Zain really took the time to explain my options clearly so I feel like I made the best informed decision for myself. Along with Ariba, they worked well together and were efficient with their care. Thanks guys!

I booked online at 9.30pm and made an appointment at 10pm, came in with pulsating toothache. Zain the dentist was exceptional — being a nervous dentist-goer, I had phase 1 root canal. The process was explained to me prior and during, and I was made to feel very comfortable. What a great service. I've been booked in for a follow up free of charge in a week.

My husband came in for a last minute appointment today and they fit him in without any issues. He had a tooth removed and was very nervous but was put at ease by the amazing dentist who talked him through every step. Ria on reception was exceptional — she assisted him setting up a payment plan with a welcoming smile. Very modern and clean. My husband is no longer in pain thanks to this amazing team.

Having a huge fear of the dentist, today couldn't have gone any better for an emergency appointment. Dr Abid put me at ease through the whole process. He considered my fear and had a great attitude towards me. Bonus that you can book the emergency appointment online and not wait in a phone queue.

Can not praise UrgentCare Dental enough. Christmas Eve 3.30pm, filling fell out, gum swollen. With it being Christmas my dentist was shut for 5 days. Phoned UrgentCare Dental and was seen within the hour. X-ray taken, informed my tooth had cracked and gum was infected. The tooth was removed and I was given another appointment for 2 weeks to check everything was ok. The staff were amazing — very welcoming and informative.

What people ask us

How is this different from Smile Direct Club or by-post brands?

Two real differences. First, a registered dentist examines you in person before treatment starts. At SDC and similar brands, no clinician ever sees your mouth in person. Second, we review you every six weeks through the treatment. If a tooth isn't moving the way it should, we print an adjustment tray that week. Postal brands can't do that. They ship the next set and hope.

Can I take them out to eat?

Yes, that's the whole point of clear aligners. You take them out for meals, snacks, and to drink anything warmer than cold water. You also remove them to brush. Rule of thumb is 20 to 22 hours a day in. If you don't think you can commit to that, fixed braces will work better for you and we'll tell you so at the consultation.

What if I lose a tray?

Tell us as soon as you notice. Depending where you are in the sequence, we either move you to the next tray early or print a replacement at our lab, usually within a week. Replacement trays mid-treatment are included in the £999. We don't add hidden fees for normal-life mishaps.

Will it hurt?

For the first two or three days after each new tray, you'll feel pressure on the moving teeth. Most patients describe it as a tight, dull ache. Standard painkillers handle it if needed. By day three the discomfort fades. After the first couple of weeks, the new-tray tightness is much milder.

Will I have to wear a retainer at night forever?

No, not if you don't want to. Most patients choose the fixed retainer instead: a tiny wire bonded across the back of your front teeth, invisible from the front, set and forget. We've fitted ones that are still holding teeth in place 15 plus years later. Once it's in, there's nothing to remember and nothing to wear. If you'd rather have removable clear retainers (a set of two, worn nightly), those are included too. Both options are part of the £999. We'll talk through which is right for you at consultation.

What if my case turns out to be more complex than expected?

We tell you at the consultation, in writing, before you commit. The £999 price is for a single arch with mild-to-moderate crowding. Both-arch cases are £1,499. More complex cases (severe crowding, bite correction, gaps that need more than 14 trays) get quoted separately. No surprises mid-treatment.
