New patients who haven't seen a dentist for years
Many of our patients have not been to a dentist in a long time. Your dentist asks how long it has been so they know what to look for, and that is all. Appointments are unhurried, and nobody will judge you.
If you're nervous, tell us when you book and we plan the appointment around you. Your first visit can be an examination only, and sedation is there if you want it, from a light oral sedative to IV sedation with a dedicated sedation nurse.

My front tooth had been knocked out, and after many years of neglecting my teeth I was absolutely terrified about going to see a dentist. Everything was professionally and very sympathetically dealt with by all staff. I've never had such a good experience with a dentist. The problem with my front tooth was all sorted within an hour and I have an affordable plan to deal with other dental issues.
I had emergency tooth extraction with Dr. Zain on Sunday evening at 8pm, and I must say that was a World Class Service without stress and pain! It took less than 20 minutes and I walked out with no pain at all. Only £20 for consultation, very good discount for my extraction, plus a free full mouth check booked for next week. If you struggle with money, they offer an excellent payment plan. Highly recommend.
I booked an emergency appointment here as I had some concerns about my gums. I was extremely nervous as I hadn't been to the dentist in several years. The girls on reception were so welcoming and the dentist made me feel relaxed and listened to. We took many breaks during the deep clean which I highly appreciated. I'll be coming back for regular appointments now I know how calm and accommodating the team are.

I booked online at 9.30pm and made an appointment at 10pm, came in with pulsating toothache. Zain the dentist was exceptional — being a nervous dentist-goer, I had phase 1 root canal. The process was explained to me prior and during, and I was made to feel very comfortable. What a great service. I've been booked in for a follow up free of charge in a week.
My husband came in for a last minute appointment today and they fit him in without any issues. He had a tooth removed and was very nervous but was put at ease by the amazing dentist who talked him through every step. Can not praise UrgentCare Dental enough. Christmas Eve 3.30pm, filling fell out, gum swollen. With it being Christmas my dentist was shut for 5 days. Phoned UrgentCare Dental and was seen within the hour. X-ray taken, informed my tooth had cracked and gum was infected. The tooth was removed and I was given another appointment for 2 weeks to check everything was ok. The staff were amazing — very welcoming and informative.

We're at 23 Harborough Road in Kingsthorpe, on the A508, a short walk from the Cock at the Kingsthorpe crossroads, about two and a half miles north of Northampton town centre. On a clear road it's around eight minutes by car from the town centre or from Northampton station, and about eleven minutes straight down the A508 from Brixworth. Driving in? Questions from new patients
How much is a check-up for new patients?
£20, with digital X-rays included if you need them. If you are seen after 11pm, the same appointment is £50. Across the UK a private check-up typically costs between £40 and £120, often with X-rays charged separately.
What does the check-up and clean include?
Everything in the check-up, and a scale and polish in the same appointment: your dentist removes the plaque and tartar and polishes your teeth. It is £99 for new patients. Booked on their own, the check-up is £20 and a clean is £100.
What if my gums need more than a clean?
If your dentist finds gum disease, you may need a periodontal assessment (£80) and a deep clean below the gum line (£150 to £180). Both go on your written plan with their prices, and nothing goes ahead unless you choose.
Do I need to register first?
No. There is no registration and no waiting list. Book a time online at any hour, or call us, and come in.
Are you an NHS practice?
No. We are a private practice. There is no waiting list, and every price is written down before anything begins.
I have not been to a dentist for years. Will that be a problem?

About 30 minutes, for the check-up and for the check-up and clean.
What happens if I need treatment?
You get a written plan with a price for every item, and you decide in your own time. Anything painful is treated first. Follow-up appointments after treatment are free.
What if I am in pain now?
Book a same-day emergency appointment instead. It is £20 with X-rays included, the phones are answered around the clock, and where possible we treat the problem in the same visit.
