Nervous patients · Sedation available

Nervous about the dentist? Tell us when you book.

Many of our new patients have not seen a dentist for years, and many are anxious about it. Tell us when you book and we will plan the appointment around you.

01

Unhurried appointments

Appointments for nervous patients are unhurried. We explain what we are going to do before we do it, and nobody will judge you for how long it has been since your last visit.

02

Your first visit can be an examination only

If you would rather nothing was treated on the day, say so. You leave with the examination, the X-rays and a treatment plan, and you decide when to book any treatment.

03

Sedation options

For patients who need more help with anxiety, we offer a light oral sedative to take the edge off, inhalation sedation for milder cases, and IV sedation with a dedicated sedation nurse from £249 an hour, where you are awake but deeply relaxed and often remember very little of the treatment. How we look after nervous patients explains each option.

Your treatment plan · Step by step

How we get your mouth healthy

If it has been a while, there may be several things to treat. We treat them in order of urgency, over a small number of appointments, and then keep your mouth healthy with regular check-ups.

01

Examination and treatment plan

Your first appointment finds everything that needs attention and gives each item a price, in writing.

02

Treatment in order of urgency

For most patients, four or five appointments. Anything painful or infected is treated first, then the gums and a professional clean, then fillings and any larger repairs, with a final check that everything has settled. How a treatment plan works explains each stage.

03

Regular check-ups

A check-up and clean every six months, or every three months if you have been treated for gum disease, so small problems are caught before they need larger treatment. Why every six months explains the reasons.

04

Care plans, if you want one

Two check-ups, two professional cleans, priority emergency access and whitening top-ups from £19.99 a month, paid month to month with no lock-in. See the care plans.

The plan patients are the ones we rarely see in pain. That's the whole point.

Questions

New patient questions

Are you taking new patients?

Yes. All three of our practices are accepting new patients: Leeds, Manchester, and our Bradford practice on Main Street in Bingley. You do not need a referral, and you can book online at any hour or call us.

What happens at the first appointment?

A dentist examines your teeth and gums, takes digital X-rays if you need them, and gives you a written treatment plan with a price for every item. Treatment only goes ahead if you choose. The appointment is £20, including X-rays.

How much does a first appointment cost?

£20, including digital X-rays, at all three practices. If you are seen after 11pm the same appointment is £50. Across the UK a private check-up typically costs between £40 and £120, often with X-rays charged separately.

I have not been to a dentist for years. Will that be a problem?

No. Many of our patients have not seen a dentist for years. Your dentist will ask how long it has been so they know what to look for, and that is all. Appointments are unhurried, and nobody will judge you.

I am nervous about the dentist. Can you help?

Yes. Tell us when you book and we will plan the appointment around you. We also offer sedation, from a light oral sedative to inhalation sedation and IV sedation with a dedicated sedation nurse from £249 an hour.

Can I have a check-up and a clean without any treatment?

Yes. The £20 appointment is the examination, a standard clean is £100, and a periodontal assessment, if your gums need one, is £80. Any treatment is agreed with you first, at a written price.

How many appointments will I need?

For most patients who have not been for a while, four or five. Anything painful or infected is treated first, then the gums and a professional clean, then fillings and any larger repairs, followed by a check that everything has settled. After that, a check-up every six months.

Can I spread the cost of treatment?

Yes. Any treatment over £500 is eligible for 0% finance over 12 months, and longer terms of up to 60 months at 12.9% APR representative are available on any amount, with no minimum. Finance is quoted at your consultation, and there is no pressure to take it.

Which practice should I book?

Whichever is nearest: Leeds at the Whitehall Estate in Armley, Manchester, or the Bradford practice on Main Street in Bingley. All three charge the same prices and are open 24 hours a day, including weekends and bank holidays.

What if I am in pain now?

Book a same-day emergency appointment. It is £20 with X-rays included, the phones are answered around the clock, and where possible we treat the problem in the same visit.
