Cosmetic Dentist in Northampton: Whitening and Bonding Prices
Two Northampton practices both offer composite bonding, and one lists it from £185 a tooth while the other lists it from £249. Same town, same treatment, and that's before you've even got to veneers, where the starting prices sit more than £300 apart.
None of that means anyone is doing anything wrong. It just means the price on a cosmetic dentistry page tells you less than it seems to, so let's line the numbers up properly and look at what's actually behind them.
What Cosmetic Dentistry Costs in Northampton
Here's what three Northampton practices were publishing on their own websites when we read them on 12 October 2026, set beside our own prices. Most of the local figures are "from" prices, which means the simplest version of the treatment, and the final quote depends on your teeth.
| Treatment | Published by Northampton practices | UrgentCare Dental |
|---|---|---|
| Composite bonding | from £185 a tooth to from £249 | from £199 a tooth |
| Veneers | from £595 a tooth to from £924 | porcelain, £695 a tooth |
| In-surgery whitening | from £450 to from £700 | £549 |
| Invisalign | from £2,850 to from £3,500 | our own clear aligners from £999 an arch |
| Single implant | from £1,950 "with ceramic" to £3,190 "including final crown" | £1,999, crown included |
Two things are worth knowing before you compare anything. One practice lists a single implant from £1,000, and from £1,950 "with ceramic", so the lower figure isn't a finished tooth you can chew on. And our clear aligners are made in our own UK lab rather than being Invisalign, so that row compares two different systems doing the same job.
Why the Same Treatment Has Different Prices
Most of the gap comes down to two things, and a third explains why bonding and veneers sit so far apart. Once you can see all three, comparing gets a lot easier.
The first is what "from" really covers. A bonding price usually means a small repair on one tooth, while reshaping the whole tooth takes longer and uses more material, so the starting price only fits the simplest case. That's why a quote after a proper look will always tell you more than any website, ours included.
The second is what's included. A dental implant is really three things stacked together, a titanium post in the bone, a connector called an abutment, and the crown you actually see and chew with. Some prices cover the post alone, which is a bit like a car advertised without its wheels. Ours is the finished tooth, crown included.
The third is how the work is made. Porcelain veneers are crafted in a dental laboratory, while composite bonding is sculpted by hand in the chair in a single visit, which is the main reason bonding costs a fraction of porcelain.
Composite Bonding: The Same-Day Fix
Composite bonding is the gentlest way to change the shape of your teeth, and it's easy to see why. The dentist paints a tooth-coloured resin onto your tooth, shapes it by hand like a sculptor smoothing clay, and sets it hard with a blue light, so a chip, a small gap or an uneven edge can be put right in one appointment, usually with no drilling at all.
At UrgentCare Dental it starts from £199 a tooth. The resin is a touch softer than natural enamel, so it wears a little over the years and needs a polish or a touch-up from time to time, and our guide to what composite bonding costs across the UK walks through how long it lasts and what upkeep looks like.
Porcelain Veneers: When You Want It to Last
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic made in a lab and bonded to the front of your teeth. Because porcelain is fired like fine china, it resists stains and keeps its gloss for years longer than resin, which is why people so often choose it when they want a change to last.
Ours are £695 a tooth. If you're torn between the two, our free bonding versus veneers guide is written for exactly that decision, and a lot of people who arrive certain they need veneers find bonding does what they wanted.
Whitening: Usually the First Step
Whitening changes nothing about the shape of your teeth, only their shade, and when it's part of a bigger plan it usually comes first. That's because whitening gel lightens your natural enamel but can't change the colour of bonding once it's on, so your teeth are brightened first and the new bonding or veneers are then matched to that brighter shade.
Our in-chair whitening is £549, and you can see our take-home option on our Northampton whitening page.
Straighter Teeth With Clear Aligners
Clear aligners are a series of thin, see-through trays, each one nudging your teeth a little further, a bit like turning a page at a time until the story's told. Ours are made in our own UK lab and checked in person by a dentist as you go.
They start from £999 for a single arch, or from £1,999 for both arches, and every course includes a hygiene appointment worth £120 and teeth whitening worth £350. There's more on our Northampton clear aligners page.
Dental Implants, Crown Included
A single implant is £1,999 at UrgentCare Dental, and that's the whole finished tooth: the implant, the abutment and the crown, planned on a 3D scan. If you're missing most or all of the teeth in an arch, All-on-4 fixes a full set of teeth onto four implants. Our Northampton implants page sets out exactly what's included.
See It Before You Commit
The hardest part of cosmetic dentistry is picturing the result on your own face. Our smile preview lets you see what straighter or brighter teeth could look like on you before you book anything, and our smile journey lays out the changes you'd like in the order they'd be done, with an estimated cost and how long it would all take.
Bigger treatments can be paid for over time with finance, which our guide to dental finance explains.
Where We Are
Our Kingsthorpe clinic is opening on Harborough Road, just down from the Cock, and its prices are the ones in the table above, the same as at every UrgentCare Dental clinic. From the town centre it's around eight minutes by car on a clear road, and from Brixworth about eleven.
